The Birthday Dinner Logistics

Lima's two headline restaurants are effectively dark for a Sunday-night celebration — Central is closed all day Sunday, Maido does lunch only until 5pm. Both are also intimate tasting counters (44–52 seats), built for pairs, not a rowdy group of 6–8.

The fix: split it across two nights.

SAT AUG 14 — DAY 8
The bucket-list dinner.

Central or Maido, for anyone who wants the tasting-menu experience. Reservation windows open only 1–4 months out — mark spring 2027.

SUN AUG 15 — DAY 9
The actual birthday.

Somewhere open Sundays, built for a toast — La Mar Cebichería, Rafael, or Isolina. Livelier, shareable, better for a group of 8.

The line below follows actual elevation, day by day — it's also the acclimatization plan: never sleep more than ~500m higher than the night before until Rainbow Mountain, by which point the group has had two full days above 2,800m.
